We are preparing for the 2029 General Election—but we’re not waiting until then to act.
From today, we are building a movement of common sense, honest leadership, and real solutions. We will contest by-elections, support local candidates, and challenge the status quo wherever it's failing. The 2029 General Election is our national objective. But our work starts now.
Foreword
Politics in Britain is broken—not because people have stopped caring, but because too many politicians have stopped listening.
For too long, governments have promised one thing and delivered another. Voters have been treated like a box to tick every few years, not like citizens to be served every day. The result is a country where trust is low, leadership is weak, and nothing ever seems to change—no matter who’s in power.
Sensible Britain was formed to change that.
We’re not here to play games or follow old party scripts. We’re here to lead with honesty, to speak plainly, and to deliver practical solutions to real problems. Whether you’re just starting your career or have lived through decades of broken promises, we believe you deserve better.
This manifesto is not a wishlist. It’s a contract with the country. Every policy we set out has been chosen because it’s doable, affordable, and right. No spin. No nonsense.
We want a Britain that works—for families and individuals, for our union and our future. We believe in secure borders, strong communities, responsible government, and leadership that actually leads. And above all, we believe in restoring trust—by doing exactly what we say we’ll do.
Sensible Britain is your voice if you’re tired of being ignored. If you believe politics should serve people, not parties. If you think it’s time for straight answers and real results.
We’re ready. Are you?
2. Our Vision
We want a Britain that works—not just for the privileged few, but for everyone who calls this country home.
We believe in a country where promises are kept, laws are upheld, taxes are fair, and opportunity comes through effort. Where families are supported, businesses are encouraged, and government does what it says it will do.
Our vision is simple: a stronger, fairer, safer Britain built on common sense, responsibility, and truth. A country that doesn’t talk itself down, but rolls up its sleeves and gets things done.
3. Core Principles
Integrity in Leadership
We believe leaders must be honest, accountable, and answerable to the people—not just at elections, but every day they’re in office.
Common Sense in Policy
We won’t follow ideology for ideology’s sake. If a policy works, we’ll support it. If it doesn’t, we won’t. It’s that simple.
Responsibility and Respect
We believe in rewarding effort, protecting the vulnerable, and expecting people to contribute to the country they live in.
Putting Britain First
We are proud of our country, and we will defend its values, its institutions, and its independence from those who seek to weaken it.

- End political grandstanding in devolved governments
- Guarantee fair funding without separatist agendas
- Support councils that deliver, remove those that waste and fail
Civil Liberties & Freedoms
- Uphold free speech, freedom of assembly, and personal privacy
- End censorship disguised as “safety”
- Oppose digital ID schemes and unnecessary surveillance
- Stop state overreach—especially under the guise of health or climate emergencies
- Respect the public—we serve them, not the other way around
5. How We Will Pay for It
We will not make promises we can’t afford. Every proposal in this manifesto is costed against clear savings or reasonable revenue.
- End wasteful spending across government departments
- Audit foreign aid and cancel funding to hostile regimes
- Reform procurement to cut corruption and inefficiency
- Cap public sector pay at reasonable levels above inflation
- Publish an annual “Where Your Money Went” report, every year
6. Our Promise to the People
We are not asking for blind trust. We are asking for a chance to prove that politics can be better.
Our promise is this:
- We will say what we
- We will do what we
- And if we don’t—we’ll explain why, and we’ll take
This isn’t just a manifesto. It’s a contract. And unlike others—we intend to honour it.
7. Call to Action
Politics won’t change unless we change it. And Britain won’t fix itself.
If you believe in common sense, if you’re tired of broken promises, if you want a country that works again—then join us.
Sensible Britain is your party. But more importantly, it’s your future.
And if you believe you could represent your community as a candidate—whether for local council or Parliament—we want to hear from you. You don’t need to be a career politician. You just need integrity, commitment, and the courage to stand for what’s right.
Let’s rebuild Britain from the ground up. Together.
Sensible Britain is your party. But more importantly, it’s your future.
